Michael combines meticulous attention to detail with a lightness of spirit and warmth that inspires confidence and trust in his clients. His easy manner and gentle style do not mask the depth of his perceptions, or his deliberate consideration of every relevant factor. Experienced with both teens and adults, Michael manages to make therapy inviting and comfortable while still addressing the difficulties and pain that bring each individual to him for help.
Michael believes in every person’s capacity to create growth in their lives, and he works hard to foster a trusting, compassionate, and egalitarian therapy relationship. While focusing on addressing day-to-day challenges, he will also explore with you the larger concerns that underlie your immediate difficulties. He generates a strong sense of optimism and hope, and finds the therapy relationship to be a powerful agent of positive change.
With extensive experience working with teens, young adults, and adults, Michael has focused on treating anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. He frequently works with those struggling with relationships, transitions, or loss, and is sensitive to and knowledgeable about challenges related to substance abuse.
Michael believes strongly in each individual's expertise regarding their own experience, and fosters a sense of respect and honesty in his therapeutic relationships. Working beyond symptom reduction, he will address your deeper fears and dreams, and the questions that lie at the heart our lives.
ALL Westside therapists welcome and affirm members of the LGBTQI community, as well as any other groups who struggle for support, acceptance, and recognition.
